Would You Sleep on Display? Inside Ibiza’s Transparent Hotel Room
In the heart of Ibiza’s lively art scene, the Paradiso Art Hotel invites guests to spend a night in its most daring attraction: the “Zero Suite.” Located in the hotel’s lobby and enclosed entirely in glass, the room offers a free one-night stay, with one condition: there’s no privacy.
Nicknamed “the fish tank,” the room turns its guest into the exhibit, visible to everyone passing through the lobby.
French artist Jesahelle, who spent a night inside, described the experience as “unique but challenging,” citing constant light, lobby noise, and the feeling of being watched. The suite has polarized opinions; some see it as a provocative art installation, others call it invasive.
Created by designer Marcos Torres, the Zero Suite is part of the hotel’s larger mission to fuse hospitality with art and interactive experiences. Bookings are open only for one night per year per guest, and reservations are currently filled 18 months ahead.
Whether bold or bizarre, the Zero Suite asks a compelling question: What’s the price of privacy when art offers a free night in Ibiza?
