World’s Tiniest Snake Rediscovered in Barbados After Vanishing for Decades

The world’s tiniest snake, the Barbados threadsnake, has resurfaced nearly 20 years after scientists feared it was lost.

Measuring just 3 to 4 inches long, the rare reptile was spotted under a rock during an ecological survey and confirmed through lab testing.

Thought to be blind and often mistaken for a worm, this elusive species is extremely vulnerable due to habitat loss and low reproduction.
