World’s Largest Bee Becomes Monument

In Boyacá, Colombia, a monumental new sculpture of a bee, measuring a staggering 17.8 meters (58 feet) from stinger to antenna, has been unveiled with the goal of earning the Guinness World Record for the largest bee monument in the world.

The sculpture, which stands 14 meters tall, is the centerpiece of a new educational park designed to highlight the critical importance of bees to global ecosystems and food production.

Park owner Oscar Alvarado stated the center aims to educate children, students, and visitors, allowing them to leave with both knowledge and a memorable experience about the significance of protecting bees, with the site also featuring a native bee house for further learning.

The new installation surpasses the previous record-holder—a 12-meter metal bee in Germany—and has quickly become a destination, drawing families and school groups to witness the colossal tribute to one of nature’s most vital pollinators.
