Warnings ISIS Resurging as US Withdraws From Syria

US forces have withdrawn from two more military bases in northeastern Syria, accelerating a broader troop drawdown under President Donald Trump’s administration.

Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), now guarding the abandoned sites, warn that Islamic State (ISIS) is regaining strength across Syria, launching fresh attacks and moving freely near former US positions.

SDF Commander Mazloum Abdi stressed that the remaining US presence is insufficient to contain the growing ISIS threat.

The security vacuum has allowed ISIS to seize weapons and regroup, raising alarms over the rapid erosion of hard-won gains.
