Trump vs. Beyoncé: What’s Behind the $11M Accusation?
President Donald Trump has reignited controversy by alleging that singer Beyoncé was paid $11 million to endorse Kamala Harris during the 2024 U.S. presidential campaign.
In a recent Truth Social post, Trump called the payment “probably illegal” and demanded that Beyoncé and others involved be prosecuted. The pop star had appeared at a Harris abortion rights rally in Houston in October 2024 and permitted the use of her song “Freedom” as part of the campaign.
However, federal election records do not show any $11 million payment. The Harris campaign reported a $165,000 payment to Beyoncé’s production company, categorized as event-related expenses. There is currently no federal law prohibiting payment for political endorsements, and both the Harris campaign and Beyoncé’s representatives have denied any improper activity.
Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, previously labeled the viral payment claim as “false information,” adding that the artist paid for her own travel. The origin of the $11 million figure remains unclear, with Trump referencing vague sources.
