Trump Caps UK Visit With Golf Course Opening
U.S. President Donald Trump concluded a five-day visit to the United Kingdom with the ceremonial opening of a new golf course in Balmedie, Scotland, the third Scottish property under the Trump Organization.
The coastal course, boasting the world’s largest natural bunker and sweeping views of the North Sea, was designed with a stated focus on “environmental sensitivity.”
While the visit included diplomatic meetings, such as trade talks with the EU and a joint appearance with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the spotlight remained firmly on Trump’s luxury real estate. Trump also renewed his criticism of wind energy, lamenting nearby turbines he once tried to block through a failed legal battle.
The trip sparked scrutiny but also showcased Trump’s continued influence and business priorities abroad. The course will open to the public on August 13, with back-to-back tournaments scheduled in the coming weeks.
