Trump Hints at Military Action Against Colombia, Calls President a “Sick Man”
President Donald Trump has openly hinted at potential U.S. military action against Colombia, telling reporters aboard Air Force One that such an operation “sounds good to me” while accusing Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro of being a “sick man” who sells cocaine to the United States.
The remarks came shortly after a U.S. military operation captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, who was transported to New York to face drug-trafficking charges.
In response, Colombia’s Foreign Ministry issued a strong rebuke, calling Trump’s comments an “unacceptable threat” and an undue interference in the country’s internal affairs that violates international law.
