President Trump Says His Administration Took Historic Action to Defend Persecuted Christians

Speaking at the National Prayer Breakfast, President Donald Trump said no administration in modern history has done more to confront the persecution of Christians worldwide, calling it a defining mission of his presidency.

Trump pointed to military action carried out on Christmas Day in coordination with the government of Nigeria, saying the strikes were intentionally timed to underscore the significance of the holiday. He described the operations as decisive and said follow‑up actions were later conducted.

The president also reflected on his 2015 campaign pledge to restore the public use of the word “Christmas,” saying it had been diminished and that his administration brought it back into common use. Trump went on to praise the strength of the U.S. military, crediting his first term with rebuilding and modernizing the armed forces.
