Tragic Skies: Major Civilian Air Crashes Since 1977

Since 1977, the world has witnessed some of the deadliest civilian air disasters in history. From the catastrophic Japan Airlines Flight 123 in 1985, which killed 520 people due to faulty repairs, to the Tenerife Airport runway collision claiming 583 lives, these tragedies highlight both mechanical failures and human errors. Fires, icing, and even deliberate attacks, as seen in Malaysia Airlines Flights 370 and 17, have caused hundreds of fatalities. Other notable incidents include Swissair Flight 111’s cockpit fire and Air France Flight 447’s pitot tube malfunction.
