Tom Cruise Flees London Home After Brazen Robbery Nearby

Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise has abruptly left his £35 million ($47.9 million) London apartment in the exclusive Knightsbridge area following a violent, daylight smash-and-grab robbery at a Rolex boutique located on the ground floor of his residential building, One Hyde Park.

In the attack last month, thieves on motorbikes used claw hammers and machetes to steal 20 watches worth hundreds of thousands of pounds, an incident that a source close to Cruise said “cemented the lack of security” surrounding the multimillion-pound flats.

The star, known to be a low-key presence who enjoyed running in Hyde Park, reportedly felt the area has “declined in the past year or two,” a concern amplified by other recent robberies targeting nearby luxury stores like Loro Piana.

While London police and city officials, including Mayor Sadiq Khan, argue that the city’s reputation for being unsafe is unfair and point to its low murder rate, the brazen nature of the crime was enough to convince the 63-year-old actor to pack up and seek safer surroundings.
