Tilburg Turns Red: Thousands Celebrate Global Redhead Days

Redhead Days in Tilburg, Netherlands, is an extraordinary festival that draws thousands of natural redheads from over 80 countries, celebrating their unique hair and shared identity.

The 2025 edition features music, food trucks, and specialized workshops, including makeup tutorials, hair care tips, and skin cancer prevention guidance tailored for redheads.

The festival also includes social activities that foster community, friendship, and a sense of belonging among participants, many of whom return year after year.

Started twenty years ago as a small art project by Dutch artist Bart Rouwenhorst, who sought 15 red-haired models for a photo and instead received hundreds of responses, the event has grown into a multi-day international celebration.

Highlights include the famous Sunday group photo, which once set a Guinness World Record with 1,672 participants, as well as panels, performances, and interactive sessions that empower attendees and promote redhead culture worldwide.

The festival has become a symbol of pride, connection, and inclusivity for people with red hair, offering a rare space where attendees can feel fully understood and celebrated.
