Syria Identifies 298 Suspects in Deadly Alawite Heartland Massacre
A Syrian government-appointed committee announced it has identified 298 suspects involved in a deadly wave of sectarian violence that killed at least 1,426 Alawites in March.
The attacks occurred over three days along Syria’s coast, targeting civilians in their homes and reportedly singling out victims based on their sect.
The committee reported cases of torture, looting, and mass killings, and said it presented two lists with the names of suspects to the authorities.
