Will Smith Sued After Violinist Reports Alleged Harassment
Actor and musician Will Smith is facing a lawsuit filed by violinist Brian King Joseph, who alleges he was fired in retaliation for reporting an incident he described as sexual harassment during Smith’s tour.
The complaint was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court and centers on an alleged hotel room intrusion that Joseph says occurred in Las Vegas in March 2025.
According to the lawsuit, Joseph reported the incident to hotel security, police, and representatives connected to Smith. The complaint alleges that days later, a representative associated with Smith accused Joseph of fabricating the incident and terminated his contract.
Joseph began performing with Smith in December 2024 while touring for Smith’s album Based on a True Story, the suit states.
The lawsuit also names a management company linked to Smith as a defendant. No specific monetary damages are listed in the complaint.
The claims outlined in the lawsuit have not been tested in court, and no judge or jury has made findings of fact. As with all civil litigation, the allegations represent the plaintiff’s account, while the defendants will have the opportunity to respond through the legal process.
