Rolling Stone’s AMPLIFIED Brings Rock Icons to Life
In the heart of Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood, a new multimedia exhibit is redefining how audiences experience music history.
Amplified, presented by Rolling Stone at Artechouse NYC, is an immersive, 50-minute journey through decades of rock and popular music, blending iconic photography, vintage footage, and surround sound into one continuous visual and audio experience.
Narrated by actor Kevin Bacon, the show avoids a traditional timeline and instead explores thematic zones, from legendary concert moments and classic album covers to the intersection of music and culture.
Visitors are enveloped in a 270-degree projection space that features more than 1,000 photographs and 200 video clips, spotlighting artists like Janis Joplin, David Bowie, Green Day, and Snoop Dogg.
Curated by Rolling Stone’s creative director Jodi Peckman, the exhibit draws from one of the largest collections of rock photography ever assembled for an installation.
Rather than a retrospective, Amplified aims to capture the feeling of a live rock show, magnified, reframed, and reimagined through immersive tech.
