Rand Paul Says Greenland Approach Has Gone Wrong

Senator Rand Paul responded to a question from Pulse TV correspondent Daniel Compatangelo about Greenland, saying the United States mishandled its approach and undermined any realistic path forward. Paul argued that respectful, voluntary discussions about purchasing Greenland could have been possible if the United States clearly ruled out military force. He cited historical examples such as the Louisiana Purchase and Alaska, but stressed that any change would require approval from the people of Greenland and likely Denmark. Paul noted Greenland’s small population and past interest in independence, saying incentives and mutual respect could have opened a conversation. Instead, he said a year of aggressive rhetoric has left little appetite for talks and pushed the issue in the wrong direction.
