Norway Launches Initiative to Attract Researchers amid US Academic Cuts
In response to rising concerns about academic freedom in the United States, particularly under the Trump administration’s funding cuts, Norway has unveiled a 100 million kroner initiative to attract top international researchers.
The fund, managed by the Research Council of Norway, will support research in fields like health, climate, AI, and energy over several years.
Similar efforts are underway in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands as Europe positions itself as a haven for threatened scholars.
