New Trump Portrait Replaces Previous One at Colorado Capitol After Criticism

A new presidential portrait of Donald Trump now hangs in the Colorado Capitol after his criticism led to the removal of a previous version he called distorted.

Painted by Arizona-based artist Vanessa Horabuena and donated by the White House, the new image presents a sharper and more formal depiction of Trump.

The replacement follows Trump’s public complaint last spring, which prompted lawmakers to take swift action and take down the original 2019 portrait.

While the new painting currently fills the gap on the wall of past presidents, officials are debating whether to replace all presidential portraits with images of former governors ahead of Colorado’s 150th anniversary.
