REEL: Netanyahu Nominates Trump for Nobel Peace Prize
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has formally nominated U.S. President Donald Trump for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, highlighting what he described as Trump’s “active role in forging peace” across conflict zones.
The nomination was presented during a private dinner at the White House, where Netanyahu handed Trump a letter addressed to the Nobel Committee. Citing Trump’s involvement in past peace efforts, such as the Abraham Accords between Israel and several Arab nations, Netanyahu said the U.S. president was “forging peace as we speak, in one country, in one region after the other.”
Trump has long expressed frustration at being overlooked by the Norwegian Nobel Committee, claiming credit for easing tensions between India and Pakistan, as well as Serbia and Kosovo.
His administration also claims credit for keeping peace between Egypt and Ethiopia during Nile dam disputes. Now in his second term, Trump has pledged to end ongoing wars in Gaza and Ukraine, though both remain unresolved.
