Meta Mistakes Mark Zuckerberg… for Mark Zuckerberg

Mark S. Zuckerberg, a bankruptcy attorney from Indiana, has taken Facebook’s parent company Meta to court, accusing the social media giant of wrongly suspending his account multiple times over the past eight years.

The problem? His name happens to be almost identical to that of Facebook founder Mark Elliot Zuckerberg. The lawyer, who has practiced law for nearly four decades, says his account was disabled five times, each time flagged for “impersonating a celebrity.”

He argues the errors disrupted his legal practice and cost him thousands of dollars in lost business, including $11,000 in advertising. Zuckerberg provided Meta with his ID, credit cards, and photos to verify his identity, yet his account was still taken down.

After filing suit in Marion Superior Court, Meta reinstated his account and acknowledged the mistake, promising to prevent it from happening again.
