Meet the First Millennial Saint of the Digital Age
Carlo Acutis, the Italian teen known as “God’s Influencer” for using the internet to spread Catholic teachings, will be canonised on September 7, 2025, following delays caused by Pope Francis’s death.
Pope Leo XIV rescheduled the event, which will also include the canonisation of Pier Giorgio Frassati, celebrated for his social work and mountaineering.
On October 19, seven others, including Papua New Guinea’s first saint, Pierre To Rot, and Venezuela’s beloved doctor Jose Gregorio Hernandez, will also be made saints.
