McDonald’s Pulls Plug on CosMc’s After Two-Year Run

After launching CosMc’s in 2023 to tap into the specialty beverage market and test bold, customizable drinks without burdening its main restaurants, McDonald’s has decided to close all five CosMc’s locations—four in Texas and one in Illinois—at the end of June.

 

The initiative underperformed as fewer customers customized drinks than anticipated, and ongoing economic pressures and declining same-store sales led executives to refocus on the company’s core menu.

 

While the CosMc’s app and loyalty program will be discontinued, select popular beverages will be reintroduced at participating McDonald’s outlets later this year.
