Madonna Urges Pope Leo XIV to Visit Gaza and Help Children
Music icon Madonna posted an emotional message to Pope Leo XIV on social media, asking him to personally visit Gaza and “bring your light to the children before it’s too late.” The singer said her appeal was motivated by her role as a mother, writing, “The children of the world belong to everyone… We need the humanitarian gates to be fully opened to save these innocent children.”
Madonna emphasized that she is not taking sides in the conflict, adding that “politics cannot affect change” and that she is reaching out to “a man of God” to help.
The post coincided with her son Rocco’s birthday, which she said inspired her to make a public call for action. She also expressed sympathy for “the mothers of the hostages” and called for their release.
The pope has previously called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, urging the international community to respect humanitarian law and protect civilians. The conflict has displaced most Palestinians and pushed the territory toward famine. According to health officials, 100 children have died from malnutrition-related causes since the war began.
