Israel seeking to deport activists detained on Gaza-bound boat

Israel intercepted a Gaza-bound boat named Handala in international waters, detaining 21 pro-Palestinian activists from ten countries as they attempted to break the naval blockade on the territory.

The detainees, including members of parliament and journalists, were taken to Ashdod and face deportation under Israeli immigration law.

While some agreed to leave, others remain in custody and are challenging the move legally.

The activists insist their mission was peaceful and aimed at delivering aid to Palestinians in Gaza.
