Israel Strikes Hamas Leaders in Qatar
Israel conducted a precision airstrike in Doha, Qatar, targeting senior Hamas leaders amid ongoing ceasefire negotiations.
While Hamas confirmed that its top negotiators, including Khalil al-Hayya, survived the attack, five individuals were killed, al-Hayya’s son.
The strike, part of an operation reportedly called “Summit of Fire,” prompted strong condemnation from Qatar, which described the action as a violation of its sovereignty and international law.
The United States was reportedly informed beforehand, with President Trump directing an aide to warn Qatar, although Israeli officials insisted the operation was carried out independently.
The attack has intensified regional tensions, with international actors, including the United Nations, condemning the strike, warning that it risks undermining ongoing peace efforts and expanding the conflict.
