Iraq to Build First Insulin Plant with European Partners

The Iraqi Ministry of Health has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with leading Dutch and German companies to establish the first insulin production facility in the country.

With a growing demand for insulin and delays caused by relying on imports, this new plant in Nineveh province will ensure faster and more consistent access for patients.

The facility will meet European standards and marks a major step in Iraq’s broader effort to strengthen its healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.
