From iPhone 17 to AirPods Pro 3: Key Announcements at Apple’s Event

Apple introduced a new addition to its smartphone lineup on Tuesday with the launch of the iPhone Air, a slimmer model priced at $999.

CEO Tim Cook called the device a “game changer,” noting its combination of a denser battery and Apple’s new A19 Pro processor chip. The company said the model is its most durable iPhone yet, designed for energy efficiency and longer-lasting performance.

Positioned between the base iPhone 17 and the Pro models, the iPhone Air adds a mid-tier option to Apple’s lineup.

The company also revealed the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro, featuring brighter, more scratch-resistant screens and an upgraded square-shaped front camera sensor that allows for sharper horizontal selfies. Prices remain steady, with the base iPhone 17 starting at $799 for 256 GB of storage and the iPhone 17 Pro at $1,099.

In wearables, Apple announced the AirPods Pro 3, which will offer real-time translation powered by Apple Intelligence, allowing users to converse across languages when both are wearing the earbuds.

The updated Apple Watch introduces a blood pressure monitoring tool, designed to alert users to signs of hypertension. Apple said the launch comes as it faces over $1 billion in expected tariff costs this quarter.
