Gaza Board of Peace
Questions are growing over whether the fragile ceasefire in Gaza can hold as discussions move toward a proposed second phase of negotiations. President Donald Trump has said it is time to advance his 20-point plan, which would include an Israeli military withdrawal and steps toward disarmament by Palestinian factions.
Supporters of the plan argue that moving forward is essential to avoid a return to large-scale violence, while acknowledging that conditions on the ground remain unstable. Central to the proposal is the creation of a multinational “Board of Peace,” intended to oversee security commitments, prevent renewed fighting, and provide assurances to both sides.
The administration has invited countries from across the West, East, and Middle East to participate, with financial contributions expected to help fund reconstruction and stabilization. U.S. officials say shared responsibility could prevent any single country from bearing the full cost, framing the effort as a necessary step toward long-term stability and peace.
