From 3.67% to 60%: Where Iran Stands in Enrichment
Iran has significantly increased its uranium enrichment levels from the 3.67% limit set by the 2015 nuclear deal to nearly 60%, a level dangerously close to weapons-grade material.
According to the International Atomic Energy Agency’s May 2025 report, Iran now holds over 400 kilograms of uranium enriched to this level, drastically reducing the time needed to build a nuclear bomb to just two or three days at fortified sites like Fordow.
Israeli strikes have targeted key nuclear facilities but have not fully halted Iran’s progress. While Iran insists its program is peaceful, Western nations and nuclear watchdogs view the 60% enrichment as a direct step toward nuclear weapons capability.
The world now closely watches whether diplomatic negotiations will continue or military escalation will follow.
