Former U.S. Official on Trump’s West Bank Stance
Joel Martin Rubin, former deputy assistant secretary of state for House affairs, said President Trump is taking a firm stance against Israel annexing the West Bank. Rubin noted that Gulf states, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar, have warned of consequences if annexation occurs, potentially threatening the Abraham Accords. Trump’s position, Rubin said, is public and visible, putting pressure on Prime Minister Netanyahu while earning appreciation from the Israeli public for previous negotiations and security decisions.
