Former Assad General Claims Austin Tice Dead

A former top Syrian general, Bassam Hassan, has told US investigators that journalist Austin Tice, missing since 2012, is dead, allegedly executed by order of ousted Syrian president Bashar al-Assad.

Hassan, now in Lebanon, has met several times with the FBI and CIA, but his claims remain unverified.

The Tice family rejects the report and continues to push for answers.

Tice, a former marine and freelance journalist, was abducted in Damascus and reportedly held under Hassan’s control. Despite years of conflicting reports, hope remains as investigations continue.
