Calls Grow to Fire Florida Officer After Viral Driver Arrest

A viral video showing Florida police punching and forcefully arresting 22-year-old Black driver William McNeil Jr. has led to widespread outrage and demands for accountability.

Civil rights attorney Ben Crump is urging the immediate firing of the officer involved, calling the act “excessive force.”

The arrest, which took place during a daytime traffic stop in Jacksonville in February, began when McNeil questioned why he was being pulled over.

Police claimed it was for not using headlights during bad weather—a claim disputed by McNeil and his legal team.

The officer has been suspended, and an internal investigation is ongoing.
