Fans Protest Sky-High 2026 World Cup Tickets
Football Supporters Europe (FSE) has issued a sharp warning about the skyrocketing ticket prices for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, calling them “extortionate” and a threat to the accessibility of the sport for dedicated fans.
The tournament, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, is projected to cost supporters up to $6,900 if they attempt to attend every match from the group stage through the final.
FSE criticized the allocation of tickets through national associations and loyalty programs, saying prices have reached “astronomical” levels, far exceeding the initial promises made in FIFA’s 2018 bid, which offered the cheapest full-tournament pass at $2,242.
The fan group is urging FIFA to immediately halt ticket sales, consult with supporters, and revise both pricing and distribution to uphold the cultural and universal significance of the World Cup.
