Dubai Chocolate Craze Sparks Global Pistachio Shortage
The Dubai chocolate bar has gone from a local creation to a global dessert obsession, reshaping how people think about indulgence.
First crafted in 2021 by Fix Chocolatier in the UAE, the bar’s signature combination of thick milk chocolate, creamy pistachio-tahini filling, and crispy kadayif pastry quickly took social media by storm.
Within two years, it became an international sensation, inspiring versions from Trader Joe’s, IHOP, Costco, and even Swiss chocolatier Lindt.
Its unique mix of richness and texture—soft, creamy, and crunchy at once—has captivated fans worldwide and fueled a pistachio shortage.
U.S. sales of pistachio-filled chocolate jumped more than 1,200% this year, as major brands rolled out Dubai-inspired treats like parfaits, cakes, and pancakes.
With luxury ingredients like rose and saffron, Dubai chocolate represents a new class of confection—one that blends culture, craftsmanship, and global appeal.
