Did Dua Lipa Cut Ties With Her Agent Over Israel Views?
Global pop star Dua Lipa has rejected reports suggesting she dismissed an agent for his political stance on Israel, calling the claims “categorically false.”
The Mail Online had reported that Lipa ended her working relationship with David Levy, after he allegedly signed a letter urging Glastonbury organisers to drop the Irish rap group Kneecap over their pro-Palestinian views. However, both Lipa and her agency WME stated that Levy had not worked with her since 2019 and was only in an advisory role until earlier this year.
In her response, Lipa criticised Levy’s attempt to silence Kneecap but also condemned what she described as “deliberately inflammatory” reporting aimed at fueling division online.
Kneecap’s performance at Glastonbury went ahead despite political controversy, with the group leading chants of “Free Palestine” on stage. The band has also faced separate scrutiny over a flag incident that led to a terrorism-related charge against one member, which he denies.
Lipa has previously used her platform to call for a ceasefire in Gaza and joined other celebrities in urging the UK to suspend arms sales to Israel.
