Drones Tackle Waste on Mount Everest
Mount Everest, dubbed the “highest dumpster in the world,” is now being cleaned with drones. This spring season, heavy-lift drones carried 300 kilograms of trash from Camp 1, outperforming porters and reducing the need for costly helicopters. The drones also delivered oxygen, ropes, and ladders, improving safety on dangerous icefalls. Authorities and experts see this as a revolutionary step, with operations expanding next to Mount Manaslu.
