BTS: Why They Matter
Six out of seven BTS members have now completed South Korea’s mandatory military service, with Jimin and Jungkook being the latest to return.
This milestone brings the world’s biggest K-pop group one step closer to a long-awaited reunion. Known for his soulful vocals and precise choreography, Jimin has become a symbol of emotional connection within the group. Jungkook, the youngest member or “golden maknae,” is celebrated globally for his vocal power and charisma.
With only SUGA still serving in an alternative capacity, fans are now anticipating what lies ahead. BTS, short for Bangtan Sonyeondan (Bulletproof Boys), debuted in 2013 and rapidly evolved into a global cultural phenomenon.
The group’s return aligns with their 12th debut anniversary, and all members have renewed contracts with their agency HYBE.
Their comeback is expected to reshape the K-pop landscape, with analysts predicting a surge in global tours, streams, and sales.
