Apple TV + Becomes Formula 1’s New Home — Here’s the Impact for U.S. Fans

Apple TV+ will become the exclusive U.S. home of Formula 1 starting with the 2026 season under a five-year broadcast deal announced by the global motorsport series.

The agreement replaces ESPN, which has aired F1 since 2018 and helped drive its surge in U.S. popularity.

The move expands Apple’s growing footprint in live sports and follows its success with the blockbuster film “F1: The Movie” starring Brad Pitt and directed by Top Gun: Maverick filmmaker Joseph Kosinski, which earned over $630 million worldwide.

Under the deal, Apple will stream every practice, qualifying, sprint, and race session on Apple TV+, while select sessions will be free to watch in the Apple TV app.

Apple plans to promote Formula 1 across Apple News, Music, Maps, Sports, and Fitness+, giving fans new ways to follow races and stories throughout the season.

Executives say the partnership will strengthen Formula 1’s rapid U.S. growth, with races now held in Miami, Las Vegas, and Austin.
