Anti-ICE protests erupt across the U.S.

Anti-ICE protests have escalated across the United States, with large-scale demonstrations reported in New York City, Austin, and Santa Ana.

The unrest follows a sweeping immigration crackdown by the Trump administration, which includes mass arrests of undocumented migrants and the deployment of 4,000 National Guardsmen to Los Angeles.

In NYC, demonstrators occupied Trump Tower and gathered at the Jacob Javits Federal Building, demanding justice for deportees sent to El Salvador’s controversial CECOT prison.

In Austin, police used tear gas to disperse protesters at ICE headquarters. In Santa Ana, crowds surpassed 1,000, with reports of fireworks thrown at police. The protests reflect growing opposition to the administration’s goal of 3,000 arrests per day, a figure drawing backlash from immigrant advocacy groups and Democratic officials.

The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) has launched a map of solidarity events, with union leader David Huerta saying, “We all have to object to this madness—this is not justice.”
