Step Aboard the Titanic: Immersive London Exhibit Brings History to Life
More than a century after its fateful voyage, the Titanic still captures the world’s imagination, and now, a new exhibition in London offers visitors the chance to experience it like never before.
Legend of the Titanic, opening July 25, blends 360-degree projection mapping, virtual reality, and original artefacts to recreate what it was like to be aboard the “unsinkable” ship on its 1912 voyage from Southampton to New York.
Visitors can walk through ornate first-class corridors, stand on the deck as the ship departs port, and witness the fateful iceberg collision in chilling detail. The immersive experience features contributions from more than 55 animators and 28 synchronized projectors, making it one of Europe’s most ambitious historical VR displays.
Beyond the digital immersion, the exhibit also showcases authentic items from the Titanic’s sister ship, the Olympic, alongside props from James Cameron’s 1997 film. Curated by Titanic historian Juan Cruz Ercoreca, the exhibition captures not only the engineering marvel and opulence of the Titanic but also the profound human tragedy that unfolded in the North Atlantic.
