World-First Wingsuit Stunt: A Daring Crossing at the Bahrain Towers
In an unprecedented display of aerial precision, wingsuit athletes Dani Román and Fred Fugen have etched their names into the history books by successfully executing the world’s first-ever head-on crossing between the twin towers of the Bahrain World Trade Center.
The meticulously choreographed feat began with the duo leaping from a Black Hawk helicopter hovering at 4,000 feet above the Manama skyline.
Accelerating towards a pre-determined centerline at a staggering combined velocity of 440 km/h, they navigated a complex flight path that required them to split into opposite arcs before turning sharply to converge.
With mere seconds to spare and margins for error virtually nonexistent, they passed each other a breathtakingly close 10 meters apart, soaring just 40 meters above the building’s iconic wind turbines.
This landmark achievement was not a spontaneous stunt but the culmination of a grueling two-year journey that involved intricate planning, securing complex permits, advanced technical mapping, and countless hours of flight training.
