Who Really Drinks the Most Coffee? The Global Leaders of 2025

Global coffee consumption is rising, but drinking habits differ sharply around the world, with Northern Europe dominating the rankings thanks to a strong café culture and high per-capita spending.

Luxembourg leads the planet at 5.31 cups per person per day, a figure boosted by its large commuter workforce, followed by Finland, Sweden, and other European nations that have long embraced daily coffee rituals.

The top 10 countries are all European, underscoring the continent’s deep cultural connection to coffee.

Meanwhile, major economies like the United States, Japan, and Brazil consume far less per person, despite their massive populations and production capacity.

At the bottom of the list sit countries where tea and other beverages are more popular—India, for example, averages only 0.02 cups per day.

The data highlights enormous differences in global coffee habits, lifetime consumption, and overall spending.
