What Did Trump Ask Israel’s President About Netanyahu?

In a striking diplomatic move, Israeli President Isaac Herzog confirmed receiving a personal letter from U.S. President Donald Trump urging him to issue a full pardon for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The message, sent directly to Herzog, describes Netanyahu as a “decisive War Time Prime Minister” and criticizes his ongoing corruption trials as “political and unjustified.”

Netanyahu currently faces three separate cases, including allegations of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust.

Prosecutors accuse him of accepting lavish gifts such as cigars, champagne, and jewelry worth over $260,000, as well as negotiating for favorable media coverage in exchange for political favors.

Netanyahu denies all wrongdoing, insisting the cases are politically motivated. Herzog’s office expressed gratitude for Trump’s friendship and support of Israel but emphasized that all pardons must adhere to official legal procedures.

The revelation has reignited heated debate within Israel over the rule of law, judicial independence, and the influence of personal alliances on justice.
