Trump: Unclear if Iran’s Leader Is Alive or Dead
Donald Trump said there is growing uncertainty surrounding the condition of Iran’s new supreme leader following recent strikes tied to the conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran.
Speaking in Washington, Trump noted that the leader has not appeared publicly since the early stages of the war and that conflicting reports have circulated about his health and whereabouts.
The leader in question, Mojtaba Khamenei, assumed power after his father, former supreme leader Ali Khamenei, was killed during the opening phase of the conflict. Since then, Tehran has released only limited information about the new leader’s condition.
Trump said some reports claim the Iranian leader was seriously injured, while others have suggested he could be dead. However, no independent confirmation has been provided.
He also pointed to the absence of public speeches or video appearances, noting that previous Iranian leaders often addressed the nation directly during times of crisis.
The White House and U.S. officials have not confirmed the reports but continue to monitor developments inside Iran as the conflict expands across the region.
