Trump Partners With Saudi Developer on Tokenized Maldives Resort
A new Trump-branded mega-project is heading not to the United States, but to the Maldives, where the Trump Organization and Saudi developer Dar Global are planning an ultra-luxury resort built around beach and overwater villas.
According to Bloomberg, the development will become one of the world’s first tokenized hotel projects, allowing investors to buy digital shares of the property through blockchain-based tokens, an approach that aims to open real-estate investment to a broader global pool.
The project continues the Trump family’s deeper foray into the crypto sector, following the launch of their crypto firm World Liberty Financial and several other blockchain-aligned ventures.
Scheduled to open in 2028, Trump International Hotel Maldives will sit just 25 minutes by speedboat from Malé. The Maldives project also expands the long-running partnership between the Trump Organization and Dar Global, which has already produced developments in Dubai, Qatar, Oman, and Saudi Arabia.
