Trump Says Iran Let 10 Tankers Through as ‘Present’

Major developments are unfolding as signs of potential progress emerge in U.S.-Iran negotiations during the ongoing conflict.

Speaking at a Cabinet meeting, Donald Trump said Iran allowed multiple oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz as a gesture of goodwill during backchannel talks with the United States. He described the move as evidence that negotiations are being conducted with credible counterparts.

Trump said the passage of several “big boats of oil” was intended to signal cooperation, marking a notable shift amid tensions that have previously threatened global energy flows through the critical waterway.

At the same meeting, U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff said there are “strong signs” a deal could be reached. He confirmed that Pakistan has delivered a 15-point U.S. proposal to Iranian officials, though Tehran has publicly dismissed the plan as excessive.

Despite these developments, Trump reiterated warnings that Iran must reach an agreement soon or face further military action, underscoring the fragile balance between diplomacy and escalation.

The situation remains fluid, with negotiations continuing behind the scenes as both sides weigh their next steps.
