‘Thank You, Trump!’ chants in Tel Aviv

On October 13, 2025, Tel Aviv’s Hostages Square became the focal point of national attention as convoys carrying freed Israeli hostages crossed back into Israel under a U.S.-brokered ceasefire with Hamas.

Reuters and Satview.TV footage showed large crowds waving Israeli flags and placards of the released hostages, while some participants held posters of U.S. President Donald Trump, whose administration negotiated the truce and prisoner exchange.

The agreement included the release of 20 surviving Israeli hostages and nearly 2,000 Palestinian detainees from Israeli prisons. Drone footage earlier that morning captured a display on Tel Aviv beach depicting Trump’s profile alongside the words “Thank You” and “Home.”

The images circulated widely across Israeli media, symbolizing both relief and the complex political weight of the deal that ended two years of war in Gaza.

Officials described the moment as a key step toward stabilizing the region.
