SpaceX Cancels Starship Megarocket Launch

SpaceX postponed the tenth Starship mission Sunday, only 30 minutes before launch, due to a ground systems issue, the company said on X. Elon Musk had planned to update the public on the rocket’s development. The mission would have tested mock Starlink satellite deployment, engine restarts, and atmospheric reentry heat shielding. Despite early-flight failures and a June test stand explosion, SpaceX continues rapid Starship production at its Texas Starbase facility. No new launch date has been announced, though Starship remains central to Musk’s Mars plans and NASA’s 2027 crewed moon landing ambitions.
