Russia and China Signal Support for Iran

New intelligence reports suggest Russia may be assisting Iran by helping identify potential American military targets across the region as the war continues.
Shipping data also shows Iranian cargo vessels departing a Chinese port carrying chemicals believed to be linked to rocket fuel production, raising concerns about external support for Iran’s military capabilities.
At the same time, Moscow says it is “not neutral” in the conflict, signaling political backing for Tehran. Both Russia and China have condemned U.S. and Israeli strikes against Iran and called for an immediate halt to military operations.
China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi warned that attempts to force regime change in Iran “will find no popular support,” while Beijing cautioned that the conflict risks destabilizing global energy markets and broader international stability.
Despite the strong rhetoric, neither Russia nor China has announced plans for direct military intervention. Analysts say the two powers are instead backing Iran diplomatically while avoiding direct confrontation with the United States.
Experts say growing coordination between Moscow, Beijing, and Tehran could reshape global alliances if the conflict continues.
