Royal Family Marks 100 Years Since Queen Elizabeth’s Birth
The British Royal Family gathered at Buckingham Palace to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
King Charles III and Queen Camilla spearheaded the commemorations, which included a private reception and a visit to the British Museum to inspect final design plans for a permanent national memorial slated for St. James’s Park.
Born in 1926, Elizabeth II served as Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, spending seven decades on the throne before her death in 2022.
To honor her legacy, the UK government also unveiled the “Queen Elizabeth Trust,” a new independent charity backed by $54 million (£40 million) dedicated to revitalizing community spaces across the nation.
With the King acting as the trust’s patron, these centennial events emphasize the enduring influence of the late Queen on British identity and community development.
