The Red Protest Hat Taking on Trump’s Greenland Push
A unique fashion protest has emerged in Copenhagen in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s threats to acquire Greenland, a Danish-controlled territory.
The movement centers on red caps bearing the slogan “Nu det Nuuk,” a clever Danish pun combining the phrase “enough is enough” (“nu det nok”) with “Nuuk,” the capital of Greenland, directly mimicking the style of Trump’s iconic “Make America Great Again” hats.
Created by clothing shop owner Jesper Rabe Tønnesen, the caps were designed to show solidarity with Greenlanders and have become a popular symbol at anti-Trump protests in Denmark, with demand now coming from around the world, including Australia, New Zealand, and the United States.
Significantly, all profits from the hat sales are being donated to support children in need in Greenland, transforming a symbolic political statement into tangible aid for the community at the heart of the geopolitical dispute.
